Overview

The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (2014) did a seminal study that provided substantial evidence that using up to half of traditional clinical hours for simulation produces comparable end-of-program educational outcomes and new graduates who are ready for practice. In 2022, Sheridan & Wilson introduced a novel simulation experience, Cinematic Simulation (CS). As an innovative strategy in simulation, research was conducted to determine its impact on nursing education. The purpose of this continuing education opportunity is to learn about Cinematic Simulation and the results of research conducted in 2022.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this program, the participant will be able to:

  • Understand an innovative strategy for simulation in nursing education.
  • Learn to facilitate Cinematic Simulations within mental health and other specialties.
  • Consider statistical findings from 2022 research conducted on Cinematic Simulation.
  • Employ the presented materials in their own educational environment
