Summary:
Under the general direction of executive leadership, the Program Manager will plan, facilitate, and implement strategies that support initiatives to advance nursing practice across all ambulatory/outpatient settings and align with CHST goals and strategic priorities. The supported programs will include clinical practice, quality/process improvement, professional development, and evidenced based practice. In addition, this Program Manager builds relationships and fosters collaboration across all ambulatory/outpatient areas and key stakeholder divisions, including but not limited to Accreditation, Quality and Safety, Infection Prevention, and Enterprise Care Management.
Responsibilities:
* Utilizes clinical skills and knowledge to provide direction, supervision, and support for the development, education, and administration of new and existing nursing initiatives.
* Monitors performance outcomes and process improvement and changes in practice that impact clinical, financial, or operational outcomes and assists with developing action plans to address areas for improvement
* Ongoing analysis of new and existing processes. Analyzes users’ problems; assists in determining and recommending optimum approach to resolve problems based on system capabilities and user needs. May aggregate and analyze findings to identify opportunities to improve processes or delivery of services; makes recommendations as appropriate
* Contributes to system level clinical policy development and review
* Participates in clinically driven shared governance structure
* May interact with medical leaders, administration, management, caregivers, ancillary staff, coworkers, vendors and agencies outside of Children's Health; participates in hospital or department committees as assigned
* Maintains professional mastery through continuing education and professional development
Other information:
WORK EXPERIENCE
* At least 5 years Clinical Experience required.
* At least 3 years Leading projects, initiatives or teams required.
EDUCATION
* Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
* Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas Upon Hire required.
* Nationally recognized certification preferred.
