Summary:
The Continuous Renal Replacement Coordinator is a position requiring the expertise of a highly trained nurse with a deep understanding of renal physiology and the technical aspects of CRRT procedures. Candidate must possess an in-depth knowledge of the different CRRT modalities available, including continuous venovenous hemofiltration (CVVH), continuous venovenous hemodialysis (CVVHD), and continuous venovenous hemodiafiltration (CVVHDF). The CRRT Coordinator is a position that encompasses specialized nursing care focus on protection, promotion, and optimization of the health and abilities of a patient acute renal failure. The CRRT Coordinator is expected to work closely with a team of multidisciplinary healthcare providers to deliver optimal care to the patients.
Responsibilities:
*Act as an expert clinical resource in CRRT for all healthcare team members.
*Ensures seamless coordination between the various healthcare professionals involved; serve as a liaison, facilitates effective communication, and streamlines patient care. Organize multidisciplinary meetings to ensure everyone understands their responsibilities and collaborates efficiently towards achieving optimal patient outcomes.
*Develop and implement protocols and procedures related to CRRT, stay up to date with the latest advancements and guidelines in renal replacement therapies, evaluate and incorporate evidence-based practices, and ensure CRRT is performed precisely and per best practices, resulting in improved patient safety and quality care.
*Educate healthcare professionals to provide guidance and the correct use and management of CRRT machines, ensuring nurses and physicians involved in patient care are knowledgeable and competent in delivering CRRT.
*Requires proficiency in operating and troubleshooting CRRT machines and related equipment and understanding various CRRT modalities. Think critically and make decisions in a dynamic situation; adept at identifying and resolving issues related to patient care, CRRT machines, and therapy optimization.
*Provides effective communication with patients, their families, and the healthcare team regarding all aspects of the treatment. Effectively educate patients and families about CRRT.
*Provide on-call, CRRT related coverage to address the needs of patients, hospital staff and outside organizations that is facilitated by the use of a rotating call schedule. Collaborate with transplant team and advise physicians, patients and/or families regarding eligibility status on the waiting list.
How You’ll Be Successful:
WORK EXPERIENCE
*At least 3 years' experience in critical care (neonatal/pediatric care preferred) Required
*At least 2 years CRRT job related experience Required
EDUCATION
*Four-year Bachelor's degree in Nursing Required
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
*Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas Required
*Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements Required
*Current PALS certification Required
