Posted 7 months ago in Education or Event

The field of oncology is a rapidly changing and it can be challenging to keep up with your oncology learning.  Below are tips to help you:

  1. Attend/take facility-based, local and national courses, webinars and conferences. These may come through your facility's online learning management systems, professional organizations or oncology vendors.
  2. Attend local dinner meetings for professional organizations like AONN+ and ONS.
  3. Use online resources to help you learn more about specific cancer types and their treatments.
  4. Put your favorite website links on your computer desktop or save them to your phone's home screen for easy access.
  5. Sign up for free email subscriptions and follow social media pages of organizations you find are helpful.
  6. Websites created for patients are sometimes easier and quicker to learn from than those created for healthcare professionals. Choose what works best for you.
  7. Most brand name products, like nutrition supplements, medications and medical equipment, have their own websites which can have great learning resources.
  8. Shadow oncology experts on rounding, in their offices and in the OR.
