May is awareness for skin cancer and melanoma (Melanoma Monday – 6), bladder cancer, brain cancer, cancer research, mental health, physical fitness, older adults, women's health (12-18),  ovarian cancer (8), hepatitis testing  (19), clinical trials  (20), don’t fry day (24), world digestive health  (29) and no tobacco (31).

Spotlight on Skin Cancer

  • One in five Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime.
  • Melanoma is the least common but most deadly form of skin cancer.
  • Skin cancer can be prevented and identified in early stages.
  • The first Monday in May is Melanoma Monday, a day to check your skin for suspicious spots. Remember to use the A,B,C,D,E rule to examine your spots.
  • Don’t Fry Day is the last Friday in May, a reminder to protect your skin.
  • There's a lot of myths about skin cancer. Learn the facts.

Did you know that May is small business month? In honor of this  appreciation month, we want to spotlight
ChemoCare Bag Ministry as a local small non-profit business.
